
Kian Setayesh, MD
Dr. Kian Setayesh is an orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine. He was a team physician for the University of Illinois at Chicago for multiple team sports including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, women’s volleyball, and gymnastics. Dr. Setayesh was the team physician for the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans in 2017-2018. He also was team physician for Dillard University in 2017-2018.
Dr. Setayesh is a researcher and distinguished author of medical conference presentations and articles. He has also written books on sports injuries, joint pain, fractures, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, return to play strategies and more.
As a sports medicine specialist, Dr. Setayesh understands the need to stay active. He enjoys participating in basketball, soccer, tennis, running, swimming, golf, and tae kwon do. His other recreational passions are music composition, guitar, reading, and cooking. He speaks English, Spanish, and Farsi.
