
Yaw Sarpong, MD, FAANS, MBA
Dr. Sarpong was born in Ghana, West Africa, but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine before completing neurosurgery residency training at University of Washington & Affiliated Hospitals and University of Missouri, and fellowship training in biodesign and bioinnovation at University of Missouri.
Dr. Sarpong specializes in open and minimally invasive treatment of spinal diseases. He’s also an expert in the treatment of intracranial and spinal masses. Additionally, he utilizes neuro-navigation and microscope navigation to treat intracranial diseases and spinal diseases. He specializes in the management and treatment of traumatic brain injuries and the surgical management and treatment of hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes. He’s also served as the neurosurgical representative for the State of Oregon Trauma Board.
When not in the hospital, Dr. Sarpong enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, reading, exercising, and traveling to new places to experience other cultures. “My wife and I absolutely love food and find pure joy in exploring diverse flavors from different cultures, blending spices, techniques, and traditions to create unforgettable culinary experiences,” he said. “My son, Kenzou, and I love being out in nature. He especially loves anything to do with water so I’m excited to take him to explore multiple beaches, soaking in the sun, the waves, and creating ocean adventures together. We’re looking forward to becoming a part of the North Dallas community, a great place
to raise kids.”
