Bunions

A bunion is a painful bony bump on the inside of the foot at the big toe joint. Bunions develop slowly at the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint as the bones move out of alignment. Pressure on the big toe joint causes the big toe to lean toward the second toe and the normal structure of the bone changes, resulting in the bunion bump. Symptoms include visible bump on the inside of the foot, pain, tenderness, redness, inflammation, a callus on the bump, stiffness, and difficulty walking.
